The Kangaroo.
Now my problem was the transport from the south coast to the Great Barrier Reef. You have to cross the desert and the jungle to reach the Reef. My rental car was useless, because there were no roads. Luckily I met a kangaroo. He offered to help me. You could jump into my pouch, he said, and I know the direction.
I went into his pouch and the kangaroo jumped quickly. During the transport he told me about his life in Australia.
We eat grass and leaves. There's plenty of this food. We are not hunted by any other animals, but white men are hunting us with their guns. The aborigines chase us with their spears and boomerangs. These men are hunting and killing us because they want to eat us.
Meanwhile we arrived in the desert and we met a herd of wild camels.
The kangaroo told me about the climate in Australia. Sometimes we have strong rains and at other times the sun is very strong. We do not like this so we hide in the forest.
We left the desert and we entered the jungle, where it was dark and quiet interrupted only by the songs of birds. We were approaching the Great Barrier Reef.
