Wild Boars

There are not many domesticated pigs in India. The reason is that Indians do not eat as much meat as we do in Western Europe. The cow is sacred, so people do not eat it. The pig is impure to the Muslim population. Many Hindu people are also convinced vegetarians which mean that they do not eat meat.

However, there are plenty of wild boars. They live in large groups in parks and uncultivated areas. Here, they move around and grub the earth to find something edible. They stay little away from people, but no more than that we can spot them. The large males might be dangerous and may attack if they feel annoyed. Their only natural enemies are the greatest predators tiger and leopard.

I got both pictures taken and a short film with a bunch of wild boars as we passed one of the main national parks. There were no predators in the vicinity, so they ran around and just grunted and farted blatantly.
